Attitude
I'm convinced that attitude makes the difference in most everything.
Our attitude affects our abilities, our relationships, our mood, our potential for growth and our success. As Toby Mac
...Goodness, life is hard! Can I get an amen?
Life is full of ups and downs...mountains and valleys...good and bad...successes and failures. God has never promised anyone that life would be easy or fair. But
He did promise it would be worth it all in the end if we are connected to Him.
The Apostle Paul said, "I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus." (Phil 3:14)
James, the half brother of Jesus, wrote,"Isn’t...
“In your anger do not sin: Do not let the sun go...
This is a great verse to pray at the beginning...
Laura likes to describe herself as a joy-filled woman.
In fact, joy is her favorite word!
She finds joy in loving life, people, and her little dog, Snickers.

...James, the brother of Jesus, writes:
"...if you know the right thing to do and don’t do it, that, for you, is evil." (James 4:17)
Choosing to do the right thing is not always easy.
...In Isaiah 43:18-19, the Lord calls out to His people who are about to be released from captivity in an attempt to renew their hope, "Forget the former things. Do not dwell on the past. See I am doing a new thing!"
If you read all of Isaiah 43 you'll find that prior to this statement Isaiah reminds the people of all that God has done for them before. He reminds them of God's character and His power...of who God really is.
God hasn't forgotten His people or left them to fend for themselves. He's waited until the time is right to intercede on their behalf. He reminds them He's been at work all along making a way for them.
God's people, however, have lost their focus. They're focusing on their problems more then they're focusing on their God. "See," God says. In other words, look for it...anticipate. God has always taken care of His people. He's about to do it again...in a new way.
I love these verses of Scripture because it reminds me that no matter what has happened in my past, no matter what I might feel has restrained or restricted me, no matter my current circumstances, I have a God who wants to do something new in my life. I have a God who wants to make a way for me. I have a God who desires to rescue me.
When I focus on those truths, I can "see" how much my God loves and cares for me because I am His. I find hope in knowing that He intercedes on my behalf when the time is right. I anticipate His goodness at work in my life.
Perhaps today God wants to remind you to quit dwelling on the past. He's about to do a new thing. Look for it!
