Are our words pleasing to God?

This is a great verse to pray at the beginning of each day!
What if we started carefully attending to our words and thoughts making sure they were pleasing to God? What affect would that have on our moods? On our actions? On other people?

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, SO THAT we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God." 2 Cor 1:3-4
The Apostle Paul teaches us in 1 Corinthians that we are to come along side others and help them get through difficult times in the same way God has helped us through our difficulties.

In other words, we are to give purpose to our pain.
My parents divorced when I was 5 years old and my dad was not in my life much. Guess what? The Lord has provided many opportunities throughout the years for me to come along side other young people going through similar circumstances and help them in their struggles.
That's exactly what God wants us to do...help others who are going through difficulties we've already been through. There is just something about sharing our struggles with someone who has had similar experiences...someone who's been there. We know they get us. We know they truly understand.
What struggle in your life can you let God use to help someone else? Where have you experienced God's comfort and healing that you can pass along to another who is in a similar circumstance?
