...I remember having a conversation with one of my friends once and we were talking about our hair. (Girl talk, you know) She has naturally curly hair and doesn't like it. She wishes she had straight silky hair. I, on the other hand, like her curly hair and wish I had that. We laughed and commented how funny it is that we often don't like features about ourselves and wish we had what someone else has. It's not just that way with our bodies, but also with personalities, careers, families...you name it. We can be very critical about ourselves and allow our negative thoughts to destroy our self-esteem and our abilities.
Ask yourself these questions: What would happen if I started thinking of myself like God thinks of me? What if I viewed myself as someone who is deeply loved, accepted for who I am, someone who is beautiful (inside and out), someone with purpose? What if I saw myself as a masterpiece? How could those views change how I feel about myself?
